Jeanine DeBique


Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Ms. De Bique studied at the Manhattan School of Music, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in 2006 and her Master’s degree in 2008, studying with Marlena Malas and Hilda Harris, and coached by Warren Jones, Christopher Cano, and Tom Muraco.  She is a Winner of the 2009 Gerda Lissner Vocal Competition.  She was also a Regional Finalist and Study Grant Winner in the 2007 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, a Finalist and Winner of the Outstanding Voice Award in the Kurt Weill Foundation’s 2007 Lotte Lenya Competition, and a First Prize Winner in the 2006 National Association for Negro Singers Competition.  She received a Study Grant from the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation in 2006, and has participated in master classes with Renee Fleming, Marilyn Horne, Catherine Malfitano, and Thomas Hampson.
